K-Houses, block of four

K-Houses, block of four, is a concept for a housing complex to be build on the 1600 sq m area. The project is focusing on making a maximum use of the land available to build quality and affordable housing.

Four houses are combined in a single block and two blocks are located in the plot. Each house is surrounded with a private garden a small drive way and a car parking. The day light in staircases brings the light to the interior. Open spaces provide air circulation and are enhancing light and ventilation for this type of house which has only two walls adjacent to the exterior.

The interior space of the house could be customize based on the number of inhabitants. The sample model of the interior shows that here is the loft style with open void, creating maximum space for each room.

In the shared walls, shafts and other related technical components such as ducts and wiring will be build in to have a good solution to reduce the cost of building, construction and maintenance.

Common Thai Town house

The house is a long construct with, in the middle located, the staircase. The roof is flat and the stairs leading to the roof allow further penetration of daylight. At the front there is the double glass covered void allowing the sky light to enter both floors, giving a generously illuminated and relaxing space for the dweller. To have a garden space in a small townhouse in the city area, a garden rooftop with pergola is designed. The roof garden and the double void also play a role of a thermic insulation buffer zone for the house.
